A balcony is an additional room, which is outside an apartment or business premises. It provides more space, which can be used in many ways. In addition, it allows an individual and creative design of the building – after all, every house or apartment is as unique as its tenants. But also balcony balustrades necessarily have to provide for security: they both keep from a fall into the deep and protect against weather influences. Depending on the material and its structure, they also give protection from inquisitive eyes.
With CELLON®, BRUAG AG offers an exceptionally resistant and flexible material not only for balcony balustrades. The panel made of cellulose (a wood component) and phenolic resin (a natural resin) passes every hardness tests: stable, unbreakable and nevertheless very delicate. A total of eight or ten millimeters defy all weather conditions. With this strength the most filigree perforations can be realized. The material allows particularly filigree patterns without endangering safety as tests at a Dresden / Germany laboratory proved. Balcony balustrades made of CELLON® decorative panels can be individually perforated with a bespoke pattern of your choice. In doing so, you define the degree of perforation and thus the degree of visibility. As a result, the balcony balustrades are clearly different from the too often-seen stake railings or uninspired perforated metal plates. They also allow more privacy than balustrades made of transparent glass.
Contrary to customary HPL plates, CELLON® is characterized by its variety of shapes and colours. Customers can choose from over 3000 different colours. The selected hue is applied directly to the uppermost layer of resin so that a natural appearance can be realized. However, this unique material not only makes the balcony balustrades a prominent architectural feature. The individual perforation also allows to create an exciting play of light and shadow. The sunlight flows through the perforation and draws magical patterns on floors and walls. BRUAG AG offers a wide variety of laser-cut prefabricated perforation pattern. CELLON® is ideal for outdoor use, for example for balcony balustrades, for sun protection and facade claddings. The compact plates consist of 70% cellulose and 30% phenolic resin. They have a thickness of 8 or 10 mm and thus more 3D effect than thin metal. Very important is also the light weight of CELLON® compared to other materials like glass or metal. CELLON® (depending on the perforation pattern) weights about 9kg per square meter and is thus easier to install than the much heavier metal or glass and the sub-construction is cheaper. CELLON® decorative panels are also scratch-, impact- and moisture-resistant just as frost-proof. The cladding does not deform due to heat or cold or other weather influences. The numerous colours are also resistant to light and do not bleach in the sun. The material allows even exciting 3D effects, which enhance the exterior of each building. This balcony balustrade is easily fixed within metal frames of 40×40 mm. Furthermore, CELLON® is cheaper than balcony balustrades made of glass or metal – but make a building as individual as possible.
